Picturefest of Updates to my Eagle Talon

It’s easier to just give you a ton of pictures then to break out every project into its own thread :)

Let’s start with my favorite new purchase: Magnus Dogbox

New Enclosed Trailer for T. Talon

With all the social media tools I use (Twitter and Facebook) I find myself falling behind when it comes to updating my blog.

Here’s an update on a house on wheels for T. Talon.

Previously, she was towed around on an open trailer (she’s on the far right).

It was nice having a trailer, but it kinda sucked if we ran into snow while taking her down to Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

In comes the new GBC/T. Talon hauler – It’s a 24′ enclosed trailer.

Inside

After painting the walls and putting truck bed liner on the floor. FYI – Most Autozones only carry one can of this stuff at a time. Good thing we have a ton of stores around us!

The reason we hadn’t bought an enclosed trailer previously is that it would have kicked my old trucks (2003 2500HD) butt. We recently upgraded to a 2009 Dodge Megacab, 6.7 Cummings. How come we moved from a Chevy to a Dodge? Well, my Dad passed away last September and he was a HUGE Dodge fan. While truck shopping we came across this beauty you see below. I’ve always wanted a Megacab and how can you go wrong with all black? He would have LOVED this truck. So in a way, we can take him racing with us again even though he’s no longer with us.

The towing on this truck is amazing. I can’t wait to take it and the enclosed trailer down to race in Vegas this year.

Wilwood Brake Kit

After waiting patiently for about a month, my Wilwood front brake kit finally arrived from Summit Racing.

When we ordered the brake kit, we also ordered a set of scalped rotors from Speedway Motors.

Gotta love the ease of swapping out brake pads.

Here is a picture of the brakes installed. Not going to lie, they’re sexy.

Bring on 2011

New year, new goals, new parts.

2010 was a good year, but I’m hoping 2011 will be even better. I’ve got a lot of room to grow with parts. I would like to click off a few low 10′s before going to a bigger turbo. But for now, here’s the upgrades currently in progress: Magnus sheetmetal intake manifold, Wilwood front brake kit (backs will probably be the same kit, just need the front set to see what will need to be made for the rears), drilled and scalloped rotors from Speedway Motors, H11/L19 head studs from Modern Automotive Performance, fuel cell, moving from an in-tank Walbro 255 to another Bosch 044, relocating the battery to the back of the car, kill switch, staging brake from CNCbrakes.com, and ARP wheels studs.

I still need to get a ShepTrans ordered too.

I’m still on the stock head and FP2 cams. We’ll see how the new setup goes before moving to a built head and bigger cams.
